The existing housing stock in Oud Charlois does not fit the demands. Veldacademie started a project searching for new typologies within existing housens. The aim of the assignment was to make bigger apartments by merging small apartments. This was done to ensure a differentiating housing stock which applies to the current demand of residents. This assignment serves as input for the developing instrument 'Merging Housing Stock' at what the Fieldacademy is working on, under the authority of the Rotterdam municipality.
In the report, the chapters 'Wie, Waar, Wat' (Who, Where, What) and 'Hoe' (How) describe the assigment and several design variants are presented, upon where the chapter 'Geld en Conclusie' (Money and Conclusion) sums up the assignment and describes the findings of the assignment.
