The Report of the qualitative needs assessment to examine the opportunities for Talent development on behalf of the sub-municipality of Prins Alexander is available. A parent survey and a workshop with children were held to find out what facilities children use and what their requirements are.
The initial focus lies on the children in higher years of primary school. For children in year 6 and year 7 (Dutch curriculum) an interactive workshop was developed in which two staff of Veldacademie dress up as a researcher and enter the classroom wearing a white coat and spectacles. During this workshop the children learn what research is by questioning one another on the theme ‘talents and hobbies’ to gain information from their classmates.
Output, combined with the online parent survey and a quantitative inventory performed for the different neighbourhoods, forms the input for a recommendation to the board of the district.
