In January 14 students of the master track Grootstedelijke Vraagstukken (or Metropolitan Issues) started with their master’s thesis at Veldacademie. In small groups they are addressing three present-day issues: facilitating civil-management, social networks of the elderly and binding social climbers to Rotterdam South.
The students will be guided by a team of mentors. A tutor from the faculty of Social Sciences will monitor the progress of the students from a scientific and course oriented perspective, employees of the Veldacademie will provide the connection to the field of practice and will provide support in carrying out the fieldwork. Depending on the assignment professionals will contribute feedback on the relevance of the students’ research proposals for the field of practice.
