Assignment to merge two apartments at Jaersveltstraat to a one-family-house in a livable enviroment

This First floor & upstairs apartment mergingpilot is part of the assignment on behalf of Stadsontwikkeling (Urban Development) on ‘Merging promotion’ at Fieldacademy. The purpose of the ‘merging promotion’ programme is to achieve a set of tools to stimulate merging housing, thus promoting the creation of a more diverse housing stock. This leads to a greater differentiation of the housing stock, for a greater choice in housing types for the middle class.

TU Delft Architecture Students of the studio RMit, developed six prototypes for a casestudy at the Jaersveldstraat in Oud-Charlois, Rotterdam.
